About Us

Chris is the current Board Chairperson. Chris & Sue returned from 3 years in Central Asia's Tajikistan with a loving desire to help Tajik people and in 2004 became involved on ORA New Zealand Board. They have since spent three months working with the ORA Project in Uganda. With backgrounds in farming and office admin, they assist with raising funds and in the national office in Hamilton. 

Chris and Jan coordinate the work of ORA New Zealand. They have been involved with aid and community development work in Tajikistan and Uganda for 15 years. Chris is a farmer and Jan has a medical and administrative background, so they bring business, administrative and agricultural skills to ORA. Chris is a foundational board member of ORA New Zealand and also chairs the ORA Uganda Board. Jan is the ORA New Zealand Board Treasurer and Secretary.

Neil has also served on the ORA New Zealand Board from its foundation. Neil is a vet in Taranaki. Neil and his wife, Sandra have worked with their family in Pakistan for three years and in Afghanistan for 18 months.

Kim, along with her husband Sam and three children (Zak, Leejay and Lucy) spent 6 months in Uganda in 2007 and returned in 2010 for a second stint. Kim is an Emergency Department nurse and became a board member in 2010. Kim is passionate about Africa and empowering the local Ugandan people.

Catie first came across ORA New Zealand during a short term volunteer missions trip to Uganda in 2007. Catie joined the board in February 2010. With a background in marketing, communications and graphic design, Catie brings these skills to the ORA New Zealand team.
